This is one of two tanks commissioned by one of Peters customers Robert Turnbull who wanted a German BB Firing winter camo finished tank.
And an allied tank and left the choice of models basically to me, a Great Cistomer!
I wanted to do this for a long time and even bought the base model last year. Done as Anneliese one of the most famous tanks of WW2.
The 3rd company of Pz. Abt 503, after losing there Tiger 1 in Normandy were sent to Mailly le Camp in France, East of Paris. To be refitted with the Tiger II. At Mailly le Camp they received 12 Porsche Turreted Tiger II's and two Henschel Turred Tiger 2's on 31st July and 2nd August 1944.
Whilst at Mailly le camp two of the Porsche Turreted models experienced mechanical problems and were left behind at Mailly, the rest headed out for action North of the Seine River west of Paris in Mid August 1944, ultimately losing all those tanks in combat.
They two Porsche turreted tanks were quickly sent back to Germany Paderborn for repairs. From Paderborn they went to fight in Hungary, one of the Porsche turreted tanks was number 314 and carried the pet name of 'Annaliese' It was lost in March 1945 fighting in the East of Hungary.
Anneliese had a number of unusual features which for an interesting model, firstly it is onlt one of the Porsche turreted King Tiger's deployed on the entire eastern front and has modifications such as spare track links mounted upon the turret and secondly this particulaer Tiger 2 was the only one sent from the factory already in winter in whitewash camo.
Precision Panzer is certain that the Black and White photos are whitewashed Tiger 2's in the Ardennes are not painted white but are in fact covered in snow and frost.
This model is a Heng Long Tiger 2 with metal tracks, upgraded gears and an ATAK zimmerite kit. Thank's for looking Peter.
Lucky Mr Turnbull.. nice tank!

' M26 Tank USA '

This is my heavily converted (Heng Long) M26! It has been depicted as late 1950's having seen action in late WW" plus the Korean War. It still has the winter camo from the Korean War conflict. The very inaccurate Heng Long suspension has been replaced by a much more realistic custom made working suspensionI also fitted an independant light system with a swivel search light, as you can see it makes it a very unusual and unique model.. a long way from the usual olive drab M26's you see all the time.

Here is a Photo montage in Black and White of some M26 tanks ranging from very late WW2, Korean War and the Vietnam War, the M26 was considered at the time one of the best designed tanks.

This is the second tank made for Mr Turnbull to compliment 'Anneliese'. Its also my first experiencewith the new Heng Long T34 after years working with WSN versions... I'm impressed with lots of detailed parts and operating hatches as stamdard. This model depicts a white washed T34/85 of the 6th Guards tank army, part of the second Uktranian Front which spearheaded the invasion of HungaryThe 6th Tank Army's first major operation was the suppression of the Korsan-Cherkassy pocket in January-February 1944.
It then fought in the Lassy-Kishinev offensive during August 1944 before gaining a Guards title in September 1944. Under the new title, it was soon engaged in the Battle of Debrecen on the 2nd. Ukrainian Front, before fighting against the Germans in operation Fruhlingserwachen in Jan.1945.
Pushing West the tank army moved south of Vienna, Austria and pivoted to the North in a wide encircling maneaver that cut Vienna off from the restof the German Reich.
At the end of the War, one of the subordinate formations, the 2nd Guards Mechanical Corps, ended operations in the area of Reneov, Czechoslovakia, on the 19th May 1945,
The 6th Guards tank army was then moved to the Transbaikal Military District in order to take part in the Sovit invasion of Manchuria.
the 6th Guards tank army remained active throught the cold war until the USSR was cahnged in 1992.
It's equipment and men were transferred to the newly independant Ukranian
army.

BALL TANKS
'A little known fact'
Both the Germans and Soviet's tried to design a ball tank for combat use but only prototypes were ever known to be built, novel but not really practical.
