The last few T34 tanks that exited from the 'STZ' Tractor Plant in Stalingrad were manned by the people who made the last few.
They did not even bother to paint them as the losses were so high at the time.

How the driver would exit the tank in an emergency with that spare track wheel on the front of him is another problem!

' German Sturmtiger '
Sent in by
Michael Dady of Nottingham. UK
Hi BFM -
Here are a few photographs of my Heng Long Sturmtiger! I know the Desert Colour scheme is probably not accurate because it's doubtable whether any Sturmtigers were actually posted to desert locations during WW2, but I think it makes a change to see a different colour scheme on a Sturmtiger rather than the usual Grey Camo effects as seen on all the other models.
And who knows one might have been sprayed in this colour in active service or even after the war had ended.
Thanks for looking Michael

The origional Abbreviation of the National Socialist Party was 'Nasos' The word Nazi derives from a Bavarian word that means a 'simple mind' and was used as a term of Derision by the German peoples due to journalist Konrad Heiden (1901-1966)
We do not think the colour is suspect as many vehicles were sent out just heavily 'primed' as paint was scarce in WW2 Germany at that time.
We like the damage detail and also the wear and tear of this vehicle.
A nicely finished model Michael. BFM team

' Soviet KV - 85 Heavy Tank '
Sent in by
Ernie Oliver of Welling Hants. UK
This KV model looks simple at first glance but in fact this origional Heng Long model has been heavily modified by Ernie to this KV-85.
The Rear deck and fuel tanks were purchased seperate from Profiline Models. The barrel is from a panther Gmodel and the metal wheels have been modified from a late KV-1 as a kit supplied by Forgebear on Ebay.
Also etrat tarck guards have been added on to the front, also extra grab rails have been made from brass rod and fitted into the Cupola, it also has front and rear convoy lights both and rear also MG flash units.
He has also he tells me added an anti track recoilPCB and an extra bright flash unit inside the recoiling barrel which also transverses.
Finally he added a 2.4 ghz unit all have been quite costly add ons for this model.
Plus some diorama extra's as the commander and secondary figures chickens and dog plus a bycycle have all come together to give a Soviet Tank Factory feel.

The KV-85 A Brief History
The KV-1 was considered by mid war outdated it's 76 mm gun was not so effective now and a new Heavy Tank was needed by the Soviets to combat the Pz.4 and Tiger 1.
In 1943 Kotins Technical Bureau was split into two design groups one to design the KV based Heavy Tank stopgap and the others to work on the KV-13.
Both teams were split tirelessly on the KV-IS that whilst produced in large numbers but was halted by tank crews and officers because it attempted to be as fast as the T34 but wanting armour as strong as the KV-1, something that was impossible.
The typical Soviet heavy tank need a larger gun and the KV-13 was the answer to this problem, but a stopgap was needed quickly in the meantime.
In the end the KV-85G design had already been rejected because of complaints of a lack of turret space for operational crews, the KV85 chassis with an IS-85 turret seemed best for production and combat needs.
